Okay well first off i just got done putting a computer togather out of really old parts when it first boots it says "cpu has been change please enter it in the bios and save settings" so yeah i set the cpu up save and exit then i get "abnormal hardware detected " with is usally normal with award bios when putting crap togather so anyways i have the windows 98 bootdisk in there so i can clean install 98 on the hard disk drive but instead of loading the floopy sdisk it goes to "verifing dmi pool data" then"update sucsess" so it is all good till it says "remove all media cds floppy disks/zip disks and press enter" so i remove the 98 boot disk and guess what. i get the same message..so what do i do now?

I am thinking the motherboard is screwed...or i have to reset the cmos settings.. any suggestions on how to fix this?

It sounds like the BIOS is having issues. If there's an updated one, you should download that and flash the board. If you can give me the exact make and model (without run on sentences...very hard to follow), I'll try and find a newer one for you.
