Do you have any solution for the problem?

Not without more details, no.
Which Windows?
Does it start and ask for password that you don't know?
Does it not start at all?
Do you get a single beep when it starts?

Provide as much detail as possible.

Sorry to mislead you, I just would love to learn how to cope with the lost password...
Assume I can't log in the Windows, say Win98SE,
and the PC doesn't have beep when it stars!

btw,
I don't know if I have got a severe mistake here:
If the RAM is not firmly plugged, how many beeps will you hear?
A short beep means healthy system; whereas, if the system fails, a longer beep may be heard...

Lost password in XP, NT.....?
It really depends on what system and at what point the password is:
BIOS password, Windows password...

Hmm. 2 different things here. No beep means no power. If it can't POST, it can't run...no beep is very bad.
No logging into Windows means it had to have beeped, but it's not loading all the way in.

How many beeps means what is determined by the BIOS.

... I am not sure if the old PC has beep, as it was brought around 7 yrs ago.

every time, I just turn power on and then after 2 minutes, the Window98 desktop screen appear.

As for the website, that is what I have been searching for. ;)

I have been reading a Chinese version of Beep codes, but just don't know how to express those codes in English.
