As you know, I had just purchased a SB card from Creative, but the matter was that I couldn't find a screw inside the package!
I wonder how the SB card and the slot can be firmly fixed together without a screw!
I have question Creative about this matter, but so far, no reply is received!
Please check if all things are included in the package before you buy or order any Creative products! :wallbash:
When you removed the metal panel to install the card....there was a screw holding that in, no? :D

I just removed the metal panel, and plugged the card into the slot, no other parts was opened or removed.
no screw could be found. :hammer3:
Maybe lost or.. I don't know.
The steps invloved in are as follows:
1: opened the PC case
2: Removed the metal panel
3: Plugged the card into the slot (have to try several times)
4: found a screw somewhere in home
5: screwed the card firmly
6: closed the PC case.
BTW, let's play a game!
Just guess where I found a screw for fixing the card!
Hints are:
Initially, the PC case was fixed with 4 screws,
but now, it only got 3!
Get the answer?
Strange. Every card slot panel I've ever removed had a screw holding it in.
There must be a store you can get a single screw for this? Here I would look in Radio Shack...not sure what the equivalent would be where you are.

You know I scare easily.
It was really my very first time to do such the experiment. :tongue1:
Maybe I have done something wrongly, but I don't know why I can see the SB card in the hardware manager. There is no yellow symbol or any warning signal. There is sound coming out from the card.
Do you have some pictures about how the slot looks like?
I think we're talking about 2 different things here. The PCI card fits into a slot on the motherboard, and in order to connect the external cables, it needs to be open to the outside of the case. You remove one of the "gates" on the back of the case, and use the same screw to secure the new card that gets inserted.
See attached image for what it looks like.

Thank you so much, bear!
Was your PC built by yourself or brought from a PC store?
How old was it?
My PC is just 1 yr old and doesn't get a brand name.
There is at least one difference between your PC and mine.
I am talking about the slot.
In the picture, I see those unused slots are closed and separately screwed with metal panels; but things are totally different for my PC.
That was just an image I found, not my own PC. How does your computer case cover the unused slots? There must be some way it's held in place.

I don't know how to describe that to you!
What I can tell you is that, to remove the metal panel, I just have to hold and move it in clockwise and anti-clockwise direction until it is detached from the PC case, just like you are opening the door.
Sometimes it would be better to explain thing with the aid of a picture, but I have no camera or other devices that can capture photo at home... sorry for that! :P
