When burning discs using Nero, the UI will show users two important processes:
'The time left', and 'the total consumed time'

Let me describe what I have found for Nero:
Just an hour ago,
I burned a 4GB game data file, and Nero showed me
'12 minutes left' before the burning process is done.

But what I have noticed was that after 11 minutes, the percentage of burned data was just 42%.
Did it imply that only one minute was enough for the rest 58% unburned data?
I was so confused by its time calulation, I can say!

The burning process was finished finally, but I saw that the total time consumed was 26 minutes, but not 12 minutes as what Nero initially had claimed.

Did the wrong calculation of time indicate that Nero program had corrupted? :hammer3:

No, it's just guessing badly. Kind of like when you're downloading a file, and it claims you have 3 minutes left...it hits 99%...and sits there for several minutes. It's guessing.

To ensure the burned file matches the files in the HDD, I have clicked the file checker's 'check box' to allow file checking.

When the file checking process was around 90%, Nero said there was an error found in the burned CDI file, but no error for the MDS and MDF files!

Should I zip the cdi files before I burn them as backup copies?

Any suggestions? :tiredcoff

I burned a 4GB game data file
It's possible this is due to copy protection on the game, no?

Oh! That's right! :D

So, if the file is zipped, will the error still appear?

I don't believe so, no. When you zip something, it becomes, in essence, a new binary file. Chances are good that Nero won't see what's in it, just the "container".

By the way, the only reason I'm still helping you to copy a game to a CD is that I believe if you own a disk (you do own the game, right?), you should be allowed to make a backup. I call that fair use.
