I installed a Japanese game and a new DivX codec, and when I tried to play a music of MP3 and WMA format in Window Media Player, I got the two errors as above.
I need a help here:
1: Are the errors are caused by the game or the new DivX codec?
2: Are there any solutions for the errors?
Please help if you could!
Can you try playing it without the new codec? Maybe that broke something...

iTunes doesn't show any error for MP3.
I am considering to uninstall the DivX Codec; but, because I have got several media players in the PC, even though WMP and RealPlayer can not play MP3 and WMA files any more, other files such as AVI, MPEG can still be played smoothly.
Most imortantly, I am afraid the unistallation of the CODEC would do more harms than before. ;)
Perhaps iTunes uses it's own codecs? Besides, divx is a movie codec, isn't it? AFAIk, this should not affect MP3 playback, unless it's somehow interacting with WMP's piracy protection "feature".
Not sure about Realplayer, except to say I refuse to install that hog on my systems...
Personally, I would remove the latest thing I added (divx?) and see if it fixes things.

But how can you ensure the program is completely unistalled?
Some programs, I can't remember their names exactly, still leave their system files in the Windows after unistallation.
For unistallation of a program, what will you usually do?
For me, I would just go to 'Control Panel' and check the lists of installed program in the 'Add/Remove Program'
Depends on the program. Most often the uninstaller that comes with it is the first choice, but if it doesn't have it's own uninstaller, then the Windows one...

What should I do?
A software in my PC didn't come with an uninstaller, and it is still left in the 'Add/Remove program' section even though I have clicked to remove it!
