I couldn't play a file of .ram (RealAudio file), if you could please download the file I have uploaded:

Since that's a zip file, I have to assume the real file is in there? I don't ever use Real Player, and refuse to install it...sorry I can't be of help.

Never ever play them. ;)
Real Player is intrusive, and a resource hog. It inserts itself into every part of Windows to make sure it's *always* running and updating. I absolutely hate it, and would prefer to work in silence than to install it.
Can you tell I don't like it? :poke:
Luckily I have a terrific sound system in my little office, and XM satellite radio to keep me company...

What do I use? Use to use Winamp, until it went south, have a Quicktime alternative (did I mention how I also despise the full QT product?), and WMP for the movies I need to see on line, though I don't much like that either. (Hmm, I'm seeing a pattern here...)

Yes, you have told me why you don't use the QT product before, but I can't exactly remember when you did that...

How about RealPlayer Alternative?
In case it was a must for you to play a 'rm' file, what would you do for that then? ;)

I don't know of RP alternative offhand. Usually, I just don't play the file....I mean, what could make it so I *must* play it?
