As far as I know, viruses love to exist in the directory under 'Program FIles' and 'System 32'; these are the two areas that I often scanned with AVG.
Maybe this is the reason why AVG always claim that the 'selected scanned area' doesn't have Virus existed.
I don't know if AVG has been controlled by a super-virus so that it can always pass the scan, even though I have frequently updated the AVG's DB.
What do you think?
Viruses can hide anywhere. Most of the time they try to hide "in plain sight", by naming themselves similar to legitimate Windows programs and files. If you think your version of AVG has been compromised (why do you think that?), you can always use an online free AV scanner to double check it?

When I try to scan files with AVG, I find there are some new suspicious areas, which are the special locations, and the network places:
please take a look at this picture:

I can't find the same interface in my version of AVG, so I don't really know what you're telling me here. What is that image showing me that you want help/advice with?

sorry for that!
I am using AVG 7.0.
AVG is mainly for virus, but it can't prevent intrusion from hackers.
I don't know if my local hard dirve has been attacked or used for storing their data...but the HDD SPACE is now only 2GB left.
just wonder what they can do in my HDD?
Too much space being used could be nearly anything from spyware to viruses to log files. Hard to say from here. I'd suggest you spend some time looking through directories and see if there are large files that you may not have placed there.
As a guess, since you said you began playing with bittorrent recently, is that maybe you're seeing the result of sharing out your drive to others?

The old PC's HDD has got only 5.25 GB total space: 2.8GB has been wasted for Win98, personal files and some softwares.
Now it has 2.5GB left.
How the hackers make the best use of this 2.5GB should be interesting to every one, I think!
Oh, I get it now. You aren't saying that someone might be using your system; you're wondering what they might do with that little bit of space if they *did* get in?
They could do nearly anything except store lots of data there. Not every virus or hack is destined to use your machine as storage or illegal file distribution (in fact, not that many do). Chances are most recent hacks will use your machine to either send spam, or perhaps launch a distributed attack on other systems (DDoS).
