autoplay menu

I am using XP SP2.
When you put a CD into the CD-ROM, a AutoPlay menu will immediately appear and provide several programs for you to choose from.

I don't know how to set such the function for my USB mini HDD.
The autoplay function sometimes does show me automatically, but sometimes it doesn't.
Please help me if you can!

I've found the autoplay menu to be hit or miss. Sometimes it just doesn't appear, no matter what I set it to. To try and set this again, open "My Computer", find the drive and right click, then choose "properties". Look for the "Autoplay" tab, and if you want it to prompt you each time it's connected, use the radio button next to "Prompt me..." near the bottom. To choose a default action, use the upper radio button labelled "Select an action" after choosing what type of file for it to act on.
