The majority of the users on this forum right now either have Yahoo! or Google set as their Homepage. The question is which one. Yahoo! and Google are by far the two most popular and powerful Search engines out there. The two Companies at one point were partner sites until one partner became more popular than the other. Yahoo! was one of the first out there to make a real dent. At one time we were all using Yahoo!. Than, to put it simply, Google came along and started controlling things. Google became an instant hit and gained this reputation as the best out there. Yahoo! took notice to this and turned on the new powerhouse. Yahoo! decided they were going to get rid of Google as a partner and go on this mass marketing and purchasing spree to regain its crown. Before Yahoo!'s decision they were using Google for algorithmic searches, now they have bought Inktomi and decided they were going to use them instead. What do we all think of the whole thing and which do you use? My guess is most of us are using Google. My guess is that if we talked about this a few months down the line it would be 50 50

Your right, I never really took notice of that till now. I use google most of the time unless I'm at yahoo already then I'll just search there. I do have the yahoo toolbar though because of its anti-spy feature which is mainly good to get rid of tracking cookies.

I've always preffered Google to Yahoo. It seems to have a much wider search - the bot is really well programmed, and seems to cover a lot of pages - along with a toned-down, easy to navigate search page. I prefer it's other features to Yahoo's, also (GMail, Translator, Groups, etc.).
One thing I read in the newspaper lately is that MSN is going to start a major search engine, to compete with Google. I don't know the specifics, just that it will be out in a while, and sounds pretty powerful.

I use google for just about everything, as well as a popup blocker (google toolbar).
The only thing I use Yahoo! for is it's yellow pages & driving directions parts.

I never use Yahoo these days, Google seems to be my number one choice and I have the google toolbar which is handy for searching and also for checking out the PR of sites.

I think google is far better. If google doesnt pull up something, then i go to Yahoo
I've yet to search on Google and not find what I'm looking for, to be honest. Seems they've spidered everything...except my own sites, damn them. ;)
