As you know that I have brought another new PC (with audio card integrated with the motherboard).
Now, the problem is that both the volume and quality of sound are too low, which really not satisfy me! (Far from my expectation) Now the budget is allowed to be $150 (US): Scheme1: Buy a stereo (5.1 or 7.1) Scheme2: Replace the old audio card. Which one of the schemes should I choose from?

Assuming this is the old drive into the new motherboard, I'd suggest seeing if there are better drivers for the sound first. While XP probably had drivers to get it to work, they might not be the best there is for that particular one.

They should be different, I know, otherwise theire price should be the same! But what are their differnce and when should we need to install a sound blast?

Better cards likely support a wider frequency range, which will reproduce more realistic sound. Some cards will even split the sound into channels per frequency to be used for 5.1 surround systems.

I have just visited "Creative" website, and several types of Sound Blaster.
Their prices are different, but all expensive in common! I wish I could have one. I really want to experience the more realistic sound.
