Code:
Microsoft(R) Windows 98
(C)Copyright Microsoft Corp 1981-1998.
C:\WINDOWS\Desktop>ipconfig
Windows 98 IP Configuration
0 Ethernet adapter :
IP Address. . . . . . . . . : xxx.xxx.xx.xxx
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . : xxx.xxx.x.x
Default Gateway . . . . . . :
1 Ethernet adapter :
IP Address. . . . . . . . . : xxx.xx.xxx.xxx
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . : xxx.xxx.xxx.x
Default Gateway . . . . . . : xxx.xx.xxx.xxx
What are they meaning, actually? Is there any difference between 0 Ethernet adapter and 1 Ethernet adapter?

In OS terms, ethernet 0 is the first network card, and ethernet 1 is the second one. It counts up from 0 instead of 1, that's all. You probably have an on-board card, and a plug in card, so Windows sees two of them.

Some of the websites records my IP address, and I see it is the IP shows in the 1 ethernet network card.
Does this mean that only the 1 ethernet network card is running?

Why would they both run? If you have wireless internet this is also what can happen.

Yup, only one is needed, and it might be that only one has an actual ethernet cable attached to it. The card is actively installed, but not in use.
